Narrative Design and Dialogues
- Outlining the main storylines
- Crafting the Main Missions that lead the player through the story with tactical gameplay
- Integrating a diverse, ensemble cast of characters into the narrative
- Writing the dialogues for the Main Missions and the tutorial
- Writing barks
- Scripting and Storyboarding cutscenes
Character Abilities
- Deconstructing multiple games with tactical combat and unique character skills
- Designing Hero abilities with focus on colorful strategic options
- Documenting the design specifications in Google Sheets
- Testing the abilities in combat
- Balancing the impact and limitations of each ability based on the data from testing
Level Design
- Sketching up various levels focusing on tactical movement, attack, and defense possibilities
- Deconstructing level design in games with similar tactical combat
- Constructing player paths through the levels
- Prototyping layout options in Unity
- Placing enemies, player spawnpoints, and covers on the levels
- Collaborating with the 3D environment artist
- Testing and iterating on level layouts
Character Relationship System
- Defining the vision for meaningful relationship mechanics in a tactical combat game
- Brainstorming possible flows for a dynamic system with constantly changing relationships
- Designing buffs, debuffs, rewards, and penalites for good and bad relationships
